Every fall, The Institute for Data Intensive Engineering and Science (IDIES) offers its members the chance to receive up to $25,000 in grant funding for eligible data-intensive research projects.

Each year IDIES—The Institute for Data Intensive Engineering and Science—offers its members and students funding opportunities through their Seed Funding Initiative and Summer Student Fellowships. The goal of the
AstroPath team member emeritus Dr. Nicolas Giraldo-Castillo was just awarded the 2022 Benjamin Castleman Award by the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) for his previous work on Astropath with Dr. Taube. The award is granted for an outstanding paper in the field of pathology published during the preceding year.
“The Johns Hopkins submission titled “Breaking the Wall to Mapping Cancer Using Multispectral Microscopy” was selected from hundreds of entries for the AstroPath platform design. AstroPath is a new, comprehensive platform for imaging and mapping microscopic sections of tumors to identify and validate predictive biomarkers to guide precision immunotherapies for cancer.”
For the ninth year, the Institute of Data Intensive Engineering and Science (IDIES) will offer its Seed Funding Initiative. IDIES Seed research funding offers faculty and research teams a one-year, $25,000 pilot award for data-intensive computing projects in order to promote the growth of data-intensive, multidisciplinary, multi-investigator sponsored projects at Johns Hopkins University.
